Please bring a USB Flash Drive to the 1st session as we will be reviewing how to backup and restore your QuickBooks data. In addition to this we suggest that you bring a notebook and pencil to take notes during the session. This is “hands on” learning with the most current QuickBooks Program.
You will be able to take your back up copy with you and if you have the current program you will be able to restore what you have worked on in class to your computer.
This introduction covers the basic features in QuickBooks. However, both beginners and users of QuickBooks will find that the sessions are very informative and will cover information that applies from QuickBooks 2006 to QuickBooks 2011.
We offer a total of eight (8) hours of instruction broken up into four (4) two (2) hour sessions most sessions are held in the late afternoon allowing a small business owner to attend.
We have structured the sessions this way to help students retain the information that is presented and to have time to interaction during the session, we keep our class size small for the same reason.
Our sessions typically have only four (4) students unless a 2nd person works with a partner which means that the most we have at that session will be eight (8) people. We also offer discounts to husband/wife of a small business who work on the same computer.
The material will introduce students to using and understanding the numbers within your Chart of Accounts. How to setup the Chart of Accounts, which accounts go to the Balance Sheet and which go to the Profit and Loss, how to setup Customers/Job and Vendors, the Item List, how to use the Note Book, the To Do List and much more.
Over the years we have found that when students understand where the information that they have entered goes helps them to retain the information so we explain some accounting terms and the reason why you enter the information into the account.
In addition to this we include several Tips and Tricks that save time.
We do not require that a student buy a book, however we do have written information which we will offer each student. The student will find that the material which we offer is written by Winnie Jones and is called “Kindergarten QuickBooks". The material is easy to understand and follows the instructor’s notes for the session. The book will be available when you sign in or at any of the other sessions.
